46878 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter January to March 2024 to ‘Develop health pathways that support equity, incorporating Mātauranga Māori, Te Ao Māori approaches, and integrating whānau perspectives to reduce the burden on whānau to navigate health services, particularly for complex care’ under section 3.1 ‘Transition to transformation’ within Te Whatu Ora’s Te Pae Tata: Interim New Zealand Health Plan 2022?
Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that the following actions were progressed during the January to March 2024 quarter:
- Work on the Health New Zealand Equity framework.
- Health status report completed; life expectancy report and amenable mortality report under development.
- Pipeline projects: lung cancer screening and AAA screening entered national planning phase. Other programmes progressed, including HPV self-testing; Hep C support and treatment service prototype and general population screening pilots; development of an endometrial cancer screening test, and RHD Echo screening.
