46875 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Associate Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter January to March 2024 to ‘Partner with ACC to improve road and air ambulance services, increase medication safety and support work in injury prevention, including falls’ under section 3.1 ‘Transition to transformation’ within Te Whatu Ora’s Te Pae Tata: Interim New Zealand Health Plan 2022?
Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that during the January to March 2024 quarter, a new Agreement between Health New Zealand and Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) has been created for the Ambulance Team (based within Health NZ). The Ambulance Team is co-funded and co-governed by Health NZ and ACC, as set out in the Agreement. The Agreement formalizes the relationship between Health NZ and ACC in respect of the Ambulance Team and is intended to update the previously agreed arrangements between ACC and Ministry of Health in respect of the funding, governance, administration, and management of the Ambulance Team. Under the Agreement, Health NZ and ACC have agreed that the Ambulance Team will continue to act as manager of New Zealand's Emergency Ambulance Services on behalf of Health NZ and ACC.
