46872 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter January to March 2024 to ‘Implement a programme of pro-equity service planning to inform infrastructure, workforce, digital and transport. This will include regional service planning and individual national specialist service plans in agreed priority areas’ under section 3.1 ‘Transition to transformation’ within Te Whatu Ora’s Te Pae Tata: Interim New Zealand Health Plan 2022?
Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that Health New Zealand has Regional Integration Teams to ensure consistency and alignment of service planning and service delivery within regions, and to improve connections between local, regional, and national arrangements.
I am further advised that the four recently appointed Regional Deputy Chief Executives are tasked with ensuring that planning, prioritisation, and service deliver is integrated in order to have a positive impact on health outcomes within each region.
