Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter January to March 2024 to ‘Review the aged care, home and community support services models to improve the sustainability of services and ensure equity of access and outcome’ under section 3.3 ‘Stronger primary and community care’ within Te Whatu Ora’s Te Pae Tata: Interim New Zealand Health Plan 2022?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised during the January to March 2024 quarter, Health New Zealand continued to prepare for Phase 2 of the Aged Care Funding and Service Models Review. Phase 2 is focused on developing recommendations that can, over time, improve the sustainability of aged care services, and ensure equity of access and outcomes across New Zealand.
