46852 (2025). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister for Children: How many, if any, admissions to secure care occurred at Oranga Tamariki's Te Puna Wai o Tuhinapo youth justice facility between 1 July and 31 December 2024, and, if any, were all in full compliance with the law?

Hon Karen Chhour: I am advised that there were 235 admissions to secure care at Te Puna Wai o Tuhinapo between 1 July and 31 December 2024. These figures represent the number of admissions, not unique individuals. I am advised that in all of these admissions to secure care, the decision making process was done in compliance with the law.
