46851 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter January to March 2024 to ‘Improve the interoperability of data and digital systems across the hospital network, and between primary, community and secondary care settings’ under section 3.7 ‘Strengthening our system enablers’ within Te Whatu Ora’s Te Pae Tata: Interim New Zealand Health Plan 2022?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during the January to March 2024 quarter, the National Disease Management System went live with new FHIR-based Notifiable disease application programming interfaces and Events. This will enable public health systems reliable integration mechanisms that can scale in an outbreak. I am further advised the National Events Managements went live, and will be progressively rolled out.
