46834 (2025). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister for Children: Had all staff completed their Te Waharoa, Safety Interventions and Alert Programme training at Oranga Tamariki's Epuni care and protection facility between 1 July and 31 December 2024; if not, why?

Hon Karen Chhour: I am advised by Oranga Tamariki that all new starters at Epuni between 1 July and 31 December 2024 have completed their Te Waharoa training and safety interventions. Alert Programme training is not part of standard training at care and protection residences, however Epuni operates a Model of Care initiative in collaboration with Health New Zealand and works closely with the local Infant Child and Adolescent Family Services team.
