Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter January to March 2024 to ‘Review the national approach to Māori suicide prevention and construct suicide prevention approaches consistent with mātauranga Māori to reduce the rate of suicide and suicidal behaviour’ under section 4.1 ‘Māori health improvement’ within Te Whatu Ora’s Te Pae Tata: Interim New Zealand Health Plan 2022?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that progress for Kia Piki te Ora and the Mental Wellbeing and Resilience Programme Rainbow Youth are reported on a six-monthly basis. Progress during the January to March 2024 quarter will be included as part of the 1 January 2024 – 30 June 2024 reporting period, and shared in due course.
