Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter January to March 2024 to ‘Strengthen and build on existing Pacific networks, and develop new networks where there are current gaps, that include churches and other community groups, to develop, support and implement the engagement framework’ under section 4.2 ‘Pacific Health’ within Te Whatu Ora’s Te Pae Tata: Interim New Zealand Health Plan 2022?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during the January to March 2024 quarter, Health New Zealand’s Pacific Health Group continues to connect with Pacific primary and community care providers to ensure there was a genuine partnership approach to informing service delivery and performance, and to identify better ways of working. I am further advised that Health NZ's regional Pacific Health teams hold regular forums with Pacific providers to ensure effective service planning and responsible allocation of resources. Regular national fono with all providers are also held.
