46823 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter January to March 2024 to ‘Train the healthcare workforce on supported decision-making and informed consent processes and implement inclusive practices in models of care, for example, NZ Sign Language interpreters, hoists and sensory reduction, using e-technology’ under section 4.3 ‘Health of Tāngata whaikaha | Disabled people’ within Te Whatu Ora’s Te Pae Tata: Interim New Zealand Health Plan 2022?
Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during the January to March 2024 quarter, a position paper on the Disability Model of Care was written and approved. In addition, Disability Capability Framework workshops during the quarter focused on inclusive models of care; a stock take of the current adult safeguarding processes within Health New Zealand began, and in Capital Coast Hutt Valley District, Disability Study Days and targeted education programmes were delivered by the Nurse Educator.
