46769 (2024). Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan to the Associate Minister of Education: What advice and modelling, if any, has the Minister received (e.g. from MFAT) on the trade implications, if any, should our EU or UK partners challenge the Education and Training Amendment Bill 2024 on the grounds of violation against the UK/EU FTA?

Hon David Seymour: The Ministry of Education consulted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade on the proposed changes in the Amendment Paper of the Education and Training Act Bill, and included advice in the papers considered by myself and Cabinet. As the advice is subject to legal professional privilege, it cannot be provided.
