46727 (2025). Ingrid Leary to the Minister for Mental Health: When will the Minister introduce new peer support roles in eating disorders services, and how will he explore how organisations and training opportunities can support these new roles?

Hon Matt Doocey: I am advised that eight peer support roles have been allocated across the four Health New Zealand regions, and local processes are underway for recruitment. I am further advised that work is underway to determine the specific training required to support their implementation within eating disorder services. I am also advised that there is a national meeting in place which will provide information and support to those in these new specialist roles.
