46672 (2025). Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan to the Minister of Education: How, if at all, has the Ministry of Education sought "opportunities to include New Zealand businesses" through the procurement of structured literacy and numeracy resources?

Hon Erica Stanford: Where practical, resources would be procured via Ministry of Education preferred panels for the New Zealand Curriculum or Te Marautanga o te Aotearoa. The panels consist of New Zealand businesses. Alternatively, should the resources be deemed to need capabilities or products outside of what the panel can provide, an open market process will be undertaken. This would be advertised via Government Electronic Tender Service (GETS).
