46575 (2024). Debbie Ngarewa-Packer to the Minister of Health: What actions, if any, will the Minister take to address the overly centralised operating model of Health NZ?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I appointed a Commissioner with a focus on putting decision making, budget holding, and commissioning back into the hands of Health New Zealand’s four regions. On 31 July 2024, Health NZ announced the appointment of four regional Deputy Chief Executives, who will have delegated responsibilities for services provided and funded in their region.
