46566 (2025). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What is the average turnaround time for a genetic test ordered through the Auckland clinical genetics service?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that genetic testing is performed by a range of external accredited laboratories. As the Member will be aware, turnaround times for genetic testing depend on the type and complexity of the test, the clinical reason for testing, and the analysis and interpretation required.
