Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: Further to his reply to Question 39606 (2025), when, if at all, does he expect the action plan currently under development to ensure consistent clinical access across Canterbury to be out into action and how, if at all, will it put patients first?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that the action plan referred to in Written Parliamentary Question 39606 (2025) is focused on improving performance against health targets. These action plans are updated regularly to ensure they continue to focus on reducing wait times and ensure consistent clinical access for patients. Our Government's health targets are putting patients first by refocusing our health system to ensure all New Zealanders can access timely, quality healthcare when they need it.
