Camilla Belich to the Associate Minister of Transport: What monitoring or evaluation, if any, is planned to assess whether board fees set under the new Fees Framework have improved governance outcomes in the Minister’s portfolio, and how will this be reported to Parliament, if at all?

Hon James Meager: The Cabinet Fees Framework is designed to strengthen governance by supporting the appointment of high-calibre board members. Entities within Ministerial portfolio are expected to demonstrate how board fees contribute to improved governance and performance. Monitoring of these outcomes occurs through day-to-day monitoring practice, which includes assessing annual accountability documents, including Statements of Performance Expectations and annual reports, which are reported in Parliament.
