46524 (2024). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Police: How many staff, if any, were employed in the Minister's departments, if any on 1 July 2023 broken down by job title and salary band range?
Hon Mark Mitchell: I refer the Member to Police’s Annual Report for the remuneration of staff by salary band in the 2022/23 financial year. This report is posted annually and the 2023/24 will be available at the end of this year. Police is not able to provide the number of jobs by title as it would require considerable effort to assemble. The time and associated cost in obtaining this information are not, in my view, justifiable. In regard to the Serious Fraud Office (SFO). I am advised that the SFO provide information about staff numbers and remuneration, and the carbon neutral government programme, as part of the Estimates Examination and Annual Review processes. This information is therefore publicly available on the New Zealand Parliament website at the following links:   SFO Annual Review 2022/23: https://www.parliament.nz/en/pb/sc/submissions-and-advice/document/54SCJUST_EVI_d217cef9-27bf-471b-4a8d-08dbfb701e36_JUST1881/serious-fraud-office-answers-to-written-questions-1-146 SFO Estimates 2024/25: https://www.parliament.nz/en/pb/sc/submissions-and-advice/document/54SCJUST_EVI_128ee728-da53-4668-02e1-08dc87b3b9bf_JUST13893/minister-of-police-response-to-written-questions-1-137 This is also my response to Written Parliamentary Question 46518 (2024).
