46477 (2025). Camilla Belich to the Minister for Economic Growth: What advice, if any, has the Minister received on trade-offs between applying higher board fees under the new Fees Framework and maintaining frontline services or staff resourcing in their portfolio areas?

Hon Nicola Willis: I am advised for my portfolio's SOE’s and Crown Companies, fees are managed under the Crown Company Fees Methodology, with the CFI's under the Framework. Both the Crown Company Fees Methodology and the Cabinet Fees Framework consider a range of factors when considering fee settings which includes affordability. Fee adjustments will not come at the expense of frontline services and will be managed within existing baselines. Both fees methodologies are designed to ensure remuneration remains within reasonable limits while supporting the appointment of high-quality governance capability.
