46394 (2025). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister of Education: With whom, if anyone, did the Minister consult with prior to the decision to remove te reo Māori from early reading books?

Hon Erica Stanford: I relied on advice provided to me in the following briefings from the Ministry of Education which provided possible options to follow to make that decision: • 20 May 2024: Information Update - Funding structure Literacy Recourses • 11 October 2024: Report - Kupu Māori in Ready Phonics Plus Books. This is also my response to written parliamentary question 46401 and 46411 (2025).
