46327 (2025). Camilla Belich to the Minister of Justice: What monitoring or evaluation, if any, is planned to assess whether board fees set under the new Fees Framework have improved governance outcomes in the Minister’s portfolio, and how will this be reported to Parliament, if at all?

Hon Paul Goldsmith: The six Crown entities in the Justice portfolio are Independent Crown Entities (ICEs). Remuneration for board members of ICEs is set by the Remuneration Authority, rather than the Cabinet Fees Framework. Entities within Justice are expected to demonstrate how board fees contribute to improved governance and performance. Monitoring of these outcomes occurs through annual accountability documents, including Statements of Performance Expectations and annual reports, which are reported in Parliament.
