46316 (2024). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Customs: How many staff, if any, were employed in the Minister's departments, if any on 1 July 2023 broken down by job title and salary band range?

Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that, as at 1 July 2023, the New Zealand Customs Service employed 1,356 staff members. I have not provided this information broken down by job title and salary band range as I do not consider that collating this information is a good use of officials’ time. This response incorporates the staff of the Secretariat of the Border Executive Board as these staff are considered employees of the New Zealand Customs Service.
