Hon Todd McClay: As a result of efficiencies realised in the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) emissions data collection and measurement approaches, the actual spend for the 2023/24 financial year was $17,688 from a budget of $84,915. MPI allocated this budget for independent verification of its 2022/23 measured and reported carbon emissions. Independent verification provides assurance that MPI’s emissions are reported accurately, and emission reduction approaches are suitable. MPI has allocated a budget of $36,000 for the 2024/25 financial year to independently verify its carbon emissions data.
