46209 (2025). Arena Williams to the Minister of Commerce and Consumer Affairs: Does the Minister support the principle that online subscriptions in New Zealand should be cancellable via the same channel used to opt in?

Hon Scott Simpson: I consider that it should be easy for consumers to cancel subscriptions. I note the Commerce Commission has issued guidance to businesses on subscriptions. This includes that businesses should be upfront to customers about their contract terms and conditions, including how to cancel it.
