Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter January to March 2024 to ‘Build a platform with the Ministry for Ethnic Communities - Te Tari Mātāwaka to include diverse ethnic voices in the design, delivery and performance of the health system’ under section 1.1 ‘Valuing the voices of consumers and whanau’ within Te Whatu Ora’s Te Pae Tata: Interim New Zealand Health Plan 2022?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised during the January to March 2024 quarter, Health New Zealand and the Ministry of Health met with a leadership group from the Ministry for Ethnic Communities (MEC) to discuss objectives for ensuring diverse ethnic voices are included in health system design and delivery work. Progress against these objectives will be monitored by the MEC.
