Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter January to March 2024 to ‘Implement a workforce pipeline that is informed by intelligence (including a Common Person Number), works with education providers and professional bodies to ensure education and training programmes are in place to grow a quality and diverse healthcare workforce that supports all healthcare providers’ under section 1.2 ‘Strengthening workforce whānau’ within Te Whatu Ora’s Te Pae Tata: Interim New Zealand Health Plan 2022?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during the January to March 2024 quarter, Health New Zealand continued to focus on producing better health workforce data, including by expanding analytics capability, and investing in its people systems.
