46120 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter January to March 2024 to be ‘Informed by Te Mauri o Rongo | the Health Charter, implement and monitor actions to improve the workplace experience of the healthcare workforce’ under section 1.2 ‘Strengthening workforce whānau’ within Te Whatu Ora’s Te Pae Tata: Interim New Zealand Health Plan 2022?
Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised during the January to March 2024 quarter, work continued on making Health New Zealand workplaces safer for its people, including establishing national reporting systems; implementing staff wellbeing and fatigue management initiatives, and ensuring effective staff support services through consistent Employee Assistance Programme service levels.
I am further advised that Ngātahitanga Pulse Survey actions continued to be progressed during the quarter, with improvement in staff experiences, and in culture, over time will be monitored through subsequent ‘Pulse’ surveys.
