46114 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter January to March 2024 to ‘Establish intelligence and insight leadership that ensures Te Ao Māori, Mātauranga Māori, Pacific and Tāngata Whaikaha | Disabled people’s world views are reflected in the use of health intelligence’ under section 1.4 ‘Strengthening the use of health insights and intelligence’ within Te Whatu Ora’s Te Pae Tata: Interim New Zealand Health Plan 2022?
Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during the January to March 2024 quarter, progress made on establishing intelligence and insight leadership within Health New Zealand included: • Implementation of the disability strategic workplan, and the introduction of disability advisor roles. • Recruitment of Pacific Disability Insights lead in Pacific Intelligence. • Work began on a Patient Profile National Health Index (PPNHI) proof of concept to provide prototype disability data and insights, informed by Māori and Pacific communities.
