46069 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter January to March 2024 to ‘Establish a sustainable national governance structure to coordinate all efforts to minimise antimicrobial resistance’ under ‘Objective 5: Governance, collaboration and investment’ within the New Zealand Antimicrobial Resistance Action Plan 2017?
Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that the New Zealand Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Governance Group was established to provide strategic oversight of the AMR Action Plan. The Governance Group, which now includes members from the Ministry of Health, Ministry for Primary industries, Health New Zealand, and sector representatives, continues to meet approximately quarterly, with a meeting held on 6 March 2024, to discuss and coordinate AMR activities.
