Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter January to March 2024 toward the action ‘Enable and embed translation across the health sector’, under ‘Strategic Priority 3: Build and strengthen pathways for translating research findings into policy and practice’ within the Ministry of Health’s New Zealand Health Research Strategy 2017 – 2027?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during the quarter January to March 2024, the Ministry of Health funded research and evaluation activities that would examine the impacts of evidence-based policy implementation, a core component of research translation. I am further advised that Health NZ has continued its phased implementation of national clinical networks, a key mechanism to translate research findings into practice through the development of innovative, efficient, and evidence-based solutions including national standards and models of care.
