45873 (2025). Ingrid Leary to the Minister of Internal Affairs: Have any citizenship applications from former residents of Gaza, that now reside in New Zealand, taken more than 18 months to process, and, if so, how many?

Hon Brooke van Velden: I am advised by the Department of Internal Affairs that there are five applications where the applicants place of birth is given as Palestine, that took longer than 18 months to receive an outcome. All are citizenship by grant applications. There is no citizenship by descent applications from people stating they were born in Palestine.
