45869 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Vocational Education: What are the key factors, if any, that Establishment Advisory Groups will be required to consider when determining the size of polytechnic councils, and endorsing constitutions for new polytechnic councils?

Hon Penny Simmonds: I have been advised that Polytechnic councils must have 6, 7 or 8 members. Establishment Advisory Groups should ensure the council: 1. Reflects the communities in the region; and 2. Has enough members to ensure a breadth of knowledge, skills, and experience required to govern the institution When considering endorsing the constitution, Establishment Advisory Groups will be required to consider the following: 1. Number of required members 2. Maximum number of terms for council appointees 3. Whether the constitution is appropriate for the institution
