Hon Chris Bishop: Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities advises me that the longest vacancy for a property in the homes removed from service category, as at 31 August 2025, was an apartment on Croft Grove, in Moera, Lower Hutt. In total, this property was vacant for 2,655 days (a bit over seven years) due to water damage from its roof leaking and major repair work. Repairs were not initially undertaken while Kāinga Ora considered broader options for redeveloping or remediating the site. As of October 2025, this property has been repaired and will shortly be returned to service.
