Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Social Development and Employment: What consultations are the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, planning to open on the week beginning Monday 22 September with employees around any changes to employment roles, employment numbers and any other employment conditions, and when is any such consultation expected to close?

Hon Louise Upston: I am advised by the Ministry of Social Development (the Ministry) that during the week commencing 22 September 2025, no consultations were initiated with employees regarding changes to Employment roles, Employment numbers, or any other Employment conditions. I am further advised that The Children’s Commissioner, Mana Mokopuna, has advised members of two of its teams that a proposal for change will be presented to them on Friday 26 September 2025. No further details are available ahead of staff receiving the proposal. The remaining Crown entities have no consultations planned to open in the week of 22 September 2025.
