45694 (2025). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister of Education: Is it the Minister’s expectation that most, or all, subjects will have a minimum amount of obligatory external assessment under the proposed NCEA changes; if so, how much?

Hon Erica Stanford: Under the proposals, assessments within each subject will be tailored to fit the learning. In some subjects, this will involve internal and external assessment, while others may not have an external assessment. The exact design of assessments in each subject will be worked through as part of the detailed design for the qualification.
