45690 (2025). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister of Education: What individuals and/or organisations, if any, will be involved in decisions about what subjects will be assessed under the proposed NCEA changes announced on 4 August 2025?

Hon Erica Stanford: The intent of the proposed new qualifications is that the Phase | Tūārere 5 curriculum subjects would be assessed. There would also be some additional industry-led subjects that would be developed in partnership with Industry Skill Boards once they are established. The Phase | Tūārere 5 curriculum subjects were informed by engagement with the Ministry Coherence Group and the Minister’s NCEA Professional Advisory Group, followed by targeted consultation with subject associations. This is also my response to written parliamentary question 45693 (2025).
