Hon Penny Simmonds: Establishment Advisory Groups (EAGs) have been set-up to oversee the establishment of the new Polytechnics making ‘in principle’ start-up decisions ahead of the new polytechnics being created by legislation. Until the transition to the new Polytechnic occurs and new Polytechnic councils are stood up, Te Pūkenga remain responsible for the health and safety, employment, and relationships with staff. Therefore, EAGs have not had any consultation will not be required to consult with staff.
