Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Minister of Housing: How many providers, if any, have contracts signed to deliver the 550 new social housing places in Auckland in 2025/26 announced in Budget 2025 and for each of those providers how does the number of places to be delivered breakdown by ‘built to own’ and ‘built to lease’?

Hon Chris Bishop: I am advised that as at 10 September 2025, three providers have contracts signed to deliver 199 places. The Government has been clear it is agnostic towards whether properties are build to own or build to lease and that choice is up to Community Housing Providers. I have attached a table with the information requested.
