45331 (2025). Teanau Tuiono to the Attorney-General: Further to PWQ 40932 Is the Attorney-General aware the that Minister for Workplace Relations and Safety “stood by her earlier comments to BusinessDesk” made on 21 August 2025 about the Employment Relations Authority in a further article published by BusinessDesk on 22 August 2025 and if so when did the Attorney-General become aware by date and title of communication?

Hon Judith Collins: I was emailed a copy of the BusinessDesk article on 22 August 2025. As previously stated in WPQ 40932 (2025) I spoke to Minister Van Velden and to Cabinet about the need for careful use of language when speaking of the judiciary or Tribunal member appointments to avoid the perception of any politicisation of the judiciary, and we are in agreement.
