45326 (2025). Debbie Ngarewa-Packer to the Minister of Health: What steps, if any, has the Government taken to ensure that funding for Māori and Iwi health providers keeps pace with the increasing health needs of their patients?
Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that, as part of our focus on putting patients first and ensuring all New Zealanders have access to timely, quality healthcare, new investment has been made to strengthen Hauora Māori services. In addition to a standard cost pressure increase across all eligible contracts, targeted funding is supporting services in areas of high health need, including the rollout of new cancer care coordination services nationwide and the Immunising Our Tamariki initiative.
