Hon Dr Shane Reti: My visit to Australia was an opportunity to observe firsthand the ability for farmers to choose to grow both non-GM crops as well as a mixture of GM and non-GM crops under Australian regulatory settings. I also heard from the Australian Gene Technology Regulator that she and her office have worked constructively with industry and other parts of government when making decisions under the regime.
