45195 (2025). Hon Marama Davidson to the Associate Minister of Justice: Which anti-trafficking organisations, if any, were consulted with prior to the introduction of the Adoption Amendment Bill?

Hon Nicole McKee: My officials from the Ministry of Justice worked closely with officials from the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment in developing the policy which informed the Adoption Amendment Bill. New Zealand Police were also consulted. Given the need to act urgently to address the risk of harm to children and young people, the Government did not consult publicly.
