45176 (2025). Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan to the Minister of Education: How many recorded occurrences, if any, have their been of the Ministry of Education not being satisfied that a home educated child is still being taught as regularly and as well as in a registered school, since January 1 2024; of those occurrences, how many, if any, led to a review of their home education by the Education Review Office?

Hon Erica Stanford: I am advised by the Ministry of Education that since 1 January 2024 it has completed ten reviews of Home Education Certificates of Exemption. The Certificate of Exemption was revoked for five home educated students because the Ministry was not satisfied the exemption standard continued to be met by the parent or legal guardian. The Certificate of Exemption remained in place for the other five home educated students because the Ministry was satisfied the exemption standard continued to be met by the parent or legal guardian.
