45175 (2025). Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan to the Minister for Courts: What training, if any, is available for court staff on patterns of psychological abuse?

Hon Nicole McKee: I am advised that the Ministry of Justice runs Family Violence and Sexual Violence Response Training, which is available to all Court staff nationwide. This training supports Court staff to see beyond the visible or physical signs of violence. It helps them recognise less obvious patterns of abuse and better understand the lived realities of victims, so they can respond more safely and effectively when disclosures are made.
