45160 (2025). Benjamin Doyle to the Minister of Health: How many new rurally based General Practitioners does the Minister expect will graduate and begin working in New Zealand following the announced increase in funding to the General Practice Education Programme, if any?

Hon Simeon Brown: As the Member will be aware, decisions on placements sit with the new general practitioners funded through this investment. I encourage these graduates to consider rural roles to help ensure all New Zealanders have access to timely, quality healthcare.
