45159 (2025). Teanau Tuiono to the Minister of Immigration: Further to WPQ 40855 Is the Minister aware that Israel Defense Forces (IDF) soldiers are being reported to the International Criminal Court (ICC) and if so what processes, if any, does the Minister or any office she is responsible for have for cross-referencing with those reports?
Hon Erica Stanford: I have not received any specific advice or reports regarding this. I note that a report made TO the ICC does not constitute an adverse finding by the ICC in regard to a particular individual. It is then up to the ICC as to what (if any) steps it takes to investigate those reports and make any findings. All people applying for a visa or an NZETA are required to meet character requirements under relevant immigration instructions, unless they are granted a character waiver.
