45147 (2025). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Minister of Housing: Does Kāinga Ora collect information on how much, if anything, boarders are paying to live in its tenants’ homes and if so, who, if anyone, do they report this information to?

Hon Chris Bishop: Kāinga Ora - Homes and Communities advises me that it does not collect information about any amounts paid by boarders in its homes. Where Kāinga Ora becomes aware of any change in household composition, including the addition of a boarder, the tenant is asked to notify the Ministry of Social Development to note their change in circumstances.
