45134 (2025). Tangi Utikere to the Minister for ACC: How many, if any, new requests for ACC transport assistance for dependent children to attend secondary school have been received for Manawatū since 1 January 2025, and what has been the outcome of each request?

Hon Scott Simpson: I am informed that requests for transport assistance can be received either written or verbally and ACC may not have a record of all requests received or the outcome of each of these requests, aside from approved purchase orders. There are no identifiable and searchable markers on a claim or purchase order to determine if a client has requested transport specifically for their children to attend school. This would require a manual review of all claims for clients that currently live in the Manawatū District and have had a taxi purchase order created since 1 January 2025. Additionally, the age of dependent children is not recorded for transport assistance requests.
