45117 (2025). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Transport: What were the five highest speeds, if any, recorded by speed cameras between 1 July 2025 and 31 August 2025 nationwide and what was the dollar value of the infringement notice issued in each case?

Hon Chris Bishop: Between 1 July 2025 and 31 August 2025, the five highest speeds travelled were 204 km/h, 193 km/h, 175 km/h, 171 km/h and 167 km/h. NZTA has informed me that it has elected to respond to each speed travelled by filing charges in Court under the Criminal Procedure Act 2011. The Court will review each case and decide the fine and/or penalty (with a maximum fine of $1,000 possible under the Land Transport (Offences and Penalties) Regulations 1999.
