44861 (2024). Ingrid Leary to the Minister for Mental Health: Regarding reply 43994, where, institutionally, are Health New Zealand focussing on training professionals for the mental health workforce?

Hon Matt Doocey: "I am advised that Health New Zealand is working with a range of relevant tertiary training institutions, skills organisations, and professional bodies in relation to its broader Mental Health and Addiction Workforce Development programme. I am further advised that for many professions, there is the requirement for health placements as part of undergraduate study and internships, and these are provided by both Health NZ and community and NGO services."
